Facilities Engineer, Electrical

SpaceXAI is seeking a Facilities Engineer, Electrical to join their team in Memphis, Tennessee, or Southaven, Mississippi.

About the Role:

The facilities engineer will be responsible for designing, constructing, operating, and maintaining critical SpaceXAI facilities and electrical systems. They will participate in and coordinate infrastructure projects, oversee ongoing operations and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and utilities, and apply corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance techniques.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate site development projects, including scheduling and collaboration with other groups.
• Manage contractors, including requesting proposals, specifying suppliers, and selecting vendors.
• Provide technical engineering support to ensure construction and maintenance comply with standards, codes, and specifications.
• Commission, operate, and maintain facilities with mechanical and electrical systems.
• Verify maintenance completion and coordinate repair, build, and contingency system efforts for various facility systems.
• Develop cost estimates, material requisitions, plans, and specifications for projects.
• Write, negotiate, and manage construction contracts with subcontractors.
• Prepare and coordinate capital expenditure processes, including reviews, approvals, and execution of site capital projects.
• Communicate and deliver building and maintenance activities and schedules to personnel, subcontractors, and material suppliers.
• Ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations.
• Respond to facility emergencies and implement facility readiness procedures.
• Collaborate with the Space Force to acquire building permits and obtain necessary certificates.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
• 2+ years of professional experience in facilities engineering and/or construction.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• 2+ years of experience in facility maintenance (electrical, HVAC, and/or structural) and facility construction.
• Ability to perform and manage complex projects using independent judgment and personal initiative.
• Experience reading, reviewing, and approving shop and fabrication drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to produce drawings for welders and machine shop fabrication in AutoCAD.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Experience operating boom lifts, man lifts, fork lifts, and cranes.
• Proficient skill level using Microsoft Office suite.

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to travel to other SpaceXAI project sites.
• Occasional exposure to extreme outdoor environments.
• Work performed in an environment with fumes, odors, and noise.
• Availability to work extended hours and weekends.
• A valid driver's license.
