Stagehand Arena Rigger

The Arena Rigger functions as a member of an integrated team of rigging specialists on a large-scale arena touring production.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in setting up and tearing down rigging, trussing, automation systems, stunt equipment, and other gear.
• Direct local crews in loading and unloading, assembling, and disassembling equipment.
• Repair and maintain rigging equipment and hardware according to supervisors and Best Practice Safety Standards.
• Ensure safety and security of rigging equipment, including chain hoist motors, truss, ground support, winch lines, stunt equipment, and safety systems.
• Follow cues to maintain high standards of quality for the production's aesthetics and creative vision.
• Comply with Feld Entertainment Inc.'s Best Practice Guidelines and local regulations.
• Continuously seek to improve efficiency and safety within the rigging department and overall production.
• Accept additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements:

• Associate degree or higher in Technical Theatre or 6+ years of experience in rigging in arena, movie, or theatre touring industries.
• Ability to climb and work at heights over 55ft.
• Experience with arena, movie, theatre rigging, purchase systems, and ground support trussing.
• Highly skilled in chain motor hoist and stunt equipment operation, repair, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of rope, aircraft cable splicing, Nicropress skills.
• Ability to lift over 75 lbs, stand for 2 hours, and operate small hand tools.
• Additional skills in carpentry, welding, metal fabrication, and understanding of electrical principles, formulas, and drawings.
• Forklift, Aerial lift operator certification a plus.
• Ability and desire to tour year-round and travel internationally and to Canada.
