Senior Consultant Specialist

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Consultant Specialist.

Business: IWPB Technology

Principal responsibilities:

• Build and lead the API & Cloud engineering community: Establish and maintain the community across platform teams, grow technical capability, and actively participate in the API and Cloud Engineering Discipline
• Set standards and modernise engineering practices: Define and govern adoption of the “HSBC way” of engineering in the API and Cloud domain, advocating modern software development and contributing to end-to-end architecture discussions
• Enable delivery through tooling and collaboration: Design, maintain and improve CI/CD tools and build pipelines, and work with technical leaders, product owners and other stakeholders on strategy, code standards, roadmaps and requirements to deliver world-class tools and capabilities

Requirements:

• Education: BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
• Core technical experience: Java, microservices, and cloud working experience
• Engineering culture & ways of working: Passion for open-source ways of working; experience fostering a strong engineering culture in an Agile and DevOps environment
• Productivity & quality focus: Track record of improving engineer productivity and quality; advocate for quality, writing testable code, and acting as a gatekeeper for “definition of done”
• Collaboration & communication: Experience collaborating across multiple engineering centres/territories; participating in technical show & tells; documenting solutions and writing blog articles
