Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and capable Highways Engineers to join our integrated WSP / Norfolk County Council Highways Design Team based in Norwich.
As a Highways Engineer, you will work on delivering highway schemes through the full project lifecycle, from feasibility and design through to construction and completion. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Developing and delivering highway schemes through the full project lifecycle
- Producing high-quality engineering designs, technical documentation, cost estimates, and contract information
- Managing your own projects and work packages, ensuring delivery to programme, budget, and quality expectations
- Working collaboratively with clients, contractors, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams
- Providing technical support and mentoring to technicians and junior colleagues
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
- Experience delivering highway or civil engineering projects
- Knowledge of highway engineering principles, design standards, and construction practices
- Experience using industry-standard design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, AutoTrack, MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive approach to professional development, health and safety, and supporting the growth of colleagues within the team
