Description
We are seeking a Support Worker to join our team at Beechley Drive, a residential service located in Fairwater, Cardiff. The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing person-centred care to individuals with learning disabilities and autism.
The role involves assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities to facilitate wellbeing, dignity, and treatment of residents. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing personal care and support with daily living tasks
- Encouraging and assisting participation in activities and community life
- Supporting service users in achieving their personal outcomes
- Maintaining accurate records, care plans, and daily notes
- Building positive relationships with service users, families, and colleagues
- Upholding safety, security, and confidentiality
- Acting as a key worker for individuals, helping them to set goals and track progress
- Promoting choice, independence, and involvement
- Contributing to continuous improvement by sharing ideas and suggestions
The ideal candidate will have a caring and respectful approach to supporting others, strong communication and relationship-building skills, and the ability to work flexibly and think innovatively. Experience in learning difficulties, autism, epilepsy, and behaviours that challenge is an advantage, but not essential, as all training will be provided.
