Responsibilities:

  • Own the live view of energy availability risk and need across the portfolio
  • Be the operational counterpart to LSEs, QSEs, scheduling coordinators, and suppliers in electricity and gas markets
  • Predict and track curtailment for each site and navigate shortage pricing and reliability events
  • Oversee the portfolio's contracted or tariff-based load-flexibility capability
  • Manage counterparty performance and Anthropic's exposure under ESAs
  • Determine how much gas the portfolio needs to schedule and build the portfolio's gas scheduling strategy
  • Build Anthropic's energy forecasting as an instrument of the availability-risk view
  • Work cross-functionally with various teams to align the energy position and physical reality of each site

Requirements:

  • 8+ years in energy markets, power scheduling, energy procurement, or utility/retail energy operations
  • Hands-on work with scheduling and settlement review in ERCOT, PJM, NYISO, MISO, or another ISO/RTO market
  • Experience working at or directly with an LSE, QSE, scheduling coordinator, retail energy provider, or load-management desk

  • Ability to predict curtailment for a large load and navigate shortage pricing and reliability events
  • Understanding of gas scheduling, nominations, hub pricing, pipeline constraints, and gas-fired plant outages

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with data center or other large, fast-ramping load in ERCOT, PJM, NYISO, MISO, or another ISO/RTO market
  • Familiarity with behind-the-meter, islanded, or bridge-power configurations
  • Experience with hedging and risk management of energy cost
  • Familiarity with natural gas markets and hub pricing

The annual compensation range for this role is $320,000-$405,000 USD.
