Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Martin Audio

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Martin Audio, a leading manufacturer of professional loudspeaker systems.

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the mechanical design of loudspeaker systems, including safety-critical lifting hardware. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and demonstrate a high level of competence in mechanical design.

Key responsibilities:

• Report to the Mechanical Design Manager and lead the mechanical design of loudspeaker systems
• Conduct structural load analysis and validate designs using hand calculations and FEA tools
• Understand geometric tolerancing and tolerance stack analysis to ensure product fit and assembly
• Design for various materials and processes, including welded fabrication, woodworking, sheet metal design, and injection moulding
• Provide mentoring to other team members and assist with drawing checking and validation
• Attend concerts or installations to gain experience of product use cases
• Visit suppliers or contract manufacturers as needed

Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related discipline
• Previous experience in a mechanical design or product development position
• Proficiency in a professional 3D CAD package, such as Solidworks, Creo Parametric, or Fusion 360
• Experience with PLM systems for document control and change management
• Knowledge of geometric tolerancing and tolerance stack analysis
• Ability to use hand calculations and FEA tools for structural analysis
