Producer

WFAA in Dallas, TX is seeking an experienced News Producer to join a major market team. The ideal candidate will produce fast-paced, creative newscasts and participate in all platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Craft great newscasts that evoke emotion and showcase compelling stories
• Write and edit news stories for on-air broadcasting and digital platforms
• Understand streaming and social media platforms to incorporate into newscasts
• Collaborate with other producers and staff members
• Use creative production techniques such as graphics and new forms of media to enhance stories
• Perform other tasks as required by supervisor or executive producer

Requirements:

• BA/BS in journalism, communications or related field
• 3-5 years of experience preferred
• Experience in photojournalism, editing, and content management systems
• Understanding of professional journalism principles
• Skills in producing engaging newscasts and digital content
• Knowledge of ENPS and Axis graphics a plus
• Strong organisational skills and ability to work under tight deadlines
• Ability to handle live, breaking news situations calmly
