Description
We are seeking a Healthcare Assistant to join our team in the Wards department at The Beardwood Hospital, part of Circle Health Group. This is a bank role working on an 'as and when required' basis, with a salary of £12.71 per hour.
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will assist patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care, and mobility needs, while respecting their preferences and dignity. You will also help patients with eating, drinking, and nutritional support, including documenting intake where appropriate.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing comfort and emotional support to patients and relatives
- Carrying out and accurately recording routine observations such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature
- Supporting basic clinical procedures, including wound care and mobility aids
- Preparing and maintaining clinical areas, including trolleys, beds, and equipment
- Working collaboratively with nurses, doctors, therapists, and admin teams to support safe and efficient patient care
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- Previous experience in a care or health support role
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with a caring, compassionate attitude
- Ability to follow instructions and escalate concerns appropriately
- Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills
- Physical ability to undertake duties, including moving and handling tasks
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification) desirable
- Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control, and confidentiality procedures
