Data Engineer

We are seeking a Data Engineer to join our team at Millennium, a global alternative investment firm. As a Data Engineer, you will work closely with quants, portfolio managers, risk managers, and other engineers to develop data-intensive and multi-asset analytics for our Fixed Income, Risk, and Commodities businesses.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and user feedback
• Provide expertise on various database platforms, including data model reviews and query performance tuning
• Define and enforce database standards and best practices
• Review and upgrade database maintenance processes and monitoring capabilities
• Work with DevOps engineers to build AI-powered tools and automation for data pipelines and system monitoring
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and new database platforms

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in data/database engineering or a related role
• Strong experience with SQL and relational database technologies, including Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL
• Experience with cloud data platforms and services in AWS and/or GCP
• Familiarity with data modeling, data quality, and data governance practices
• Proficiency in Unix/Linux environments with scripting or programming languages such as Python or Java
