Assistant Manager, Technical Accounting

We are seeking an Assistant Manager, Technical Accounting to join our Technical Accounting Group (TAG) within the Group Accounting Office. The successful candidate will play a critical role in setting the accounting position for significant corporate activities or transactions, investments, financing, and complex financial instruments.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the Group's financial statements comply with IFRS accounting standards
• Prepare accounting memos on initial classification and measurement for newly identified accounting issues
• Support the quarter-end closing process by ensuring all accounting items relating to significant transactions and the valuation of financial instruments are accurately recorded and reported
• Provide technical accounting guidance and support to the finance team and other stakeholders
• Stay updated on changes to IFRS and advise on their impact on the Group's financial statements
• Serve as the primary contact for external auditors on technical accounting documentation
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the financial reporting process
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and tax

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• A professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is preferred
• Minimum 5 years of experience in technical accounting, external audit, or financial reporting with IFRS exposure
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
• Excellent ability to collaborate and explain complex accounting concepts to stakeholders
