Game Security Analyst (Apex Legends)

Respawn Entertainment is seeking a Games Security Analyst to support anti-cheat initiatives for Apex Legends. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of multiplayer games, anti-cheat philosophies, and security principles.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with teams across EA to guide resource allocation in the fight against cheaters.
• Develop and propose new internal processes or improvements.
• Assist in planning and implementing new security projects and processes.
• Monitor metrics and KPIs to identify malicious behavior affecting game health.
• Investigate, document, and communicate about reported cheaters, cheats, exploits, and other detrimental behavior.
• Track the landscape of cheaters and cheat communities to document trends and raise flags as needed.

Requirements:

• Familiarity with different types of cheats and their workings, especially in FPS games.
• Basic experience with anti-cheat technologies.
• Understanding of online game mechanics, including rendering, networking, and databases.
• Experience querying datasets with SQL.

Preferred qualifications:

• Native fluency in Mandarin (reading and writing).
• Basic knowledge of Asian streaming services and gaming ecosystems.
• Familiarity with a programming language used for scripting, such as Python.
• Knowledge of account security and account takeover activities.
