Staff Software Engineer

Okta's Identity Governance (OIG) organisation is looking for a Staff Engineer to join the Identity Administration team. As a Staff Engineer, you will be involved in the development, design, and maintenance of products serving enterprise customers at scale.

Responsibilities:

• Take end-to-end ownership of feature areas from technical design to implementation, testing, deployment, and post-launch monitoring
• Design, build, and ship high-quality features across the OIG system with a focus on correctness, reliability, and performance
• Deliver high-quality bug fixes and handle customer-reported issues
• Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and ensure high engineering quality
• Collaborate with Product Development, QA, and Site Reliability Engineering teams for development and deployment work

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience with Java (Spring/Dropwizard) and/or Golang
• Deep understanding of multi-threading and asynchronous processing
• Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and JWT tokens
• Experience with high-performance RESTful APIs and/or gRPC services
• Solid experience with relational databases and caching layers at scale
• Hands-on experience with AWS and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform)
• Strong proficiency with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and CI/CD automation tools

Nice to haves:

• Experience with Splunk, SignalFX, or Datadog
• Familiarity with Kafka or SQS
• Basic familiarity with React/JavaScript
