Special Education Teacher

As a Special Education Teacher at Menta Academy Plainfield, you will collaborate with the clinical staff and academic team to create and implement classroom interventions tailored to meet the individual academic and social/emotional needs of students.

Responsibilities:

• Teach all subjects in a self-contained classroom with paraprofessional support for classes of around 10 students.
• Provide a differentiated learning environment and work collaboratively with staff to achieve positive results for students.
• Personalize learning and provide a social-emotional learning environment.
• Be flexible with grade levels during the school year.

Qualifications:

• IL PEL with LBS1 Certification or PEL General Education Teacher Certification with willingness to obtain LBS1.
• Experience working with youth with emotional/behavioral/academic difficulties.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary: USD 59,000-70,000 per year.
