Description
We are seeking an experienced Principal Psychologist to lead and develop the psychology service within our hospital/unit in Birmingham.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Leading the psychology provision for a designated ward or group of patients
- Providing high-quality psychological input responsive to individual patient needs, risks, and presentations
- Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to support patient care
- Conducting comprehensive psychological assessments, formulation, and evaluation
- Delivering evidence-based psychological interventions
- Offering line management and supervision to Assistant Psychologists
- Contributing to the development of effective psychological care
The role requires a recognised postgraduate qualification leading to HCPC registration, current HCPC registration as a Psychologist, formal training in at least two therapeutic modalities, and relevant post-qualification experience.

The salary for this role is up to £68,250 per annum, with a working week of 37.5 hours.
