Staff+ Software Engineer, Access Programs

As a Staff+ Software Engineer on the Access Programs team, you will build identity, vetting, and access management infrastructure for Anthropic's trusted access programs.

Responsibilities:

• Build identity verification and vetting systems (KYC/KYB) for individual and business customers
• Design and implement access control systems for approved use cases
• Develop infrastructure to configure safety systems and detection thresholds
• Create monitoring to detect misuse and tooling for enforcement teams
• Collaborate with policy, enforcement, and product teams for informed access decisions
• Build systems to identify account compromise and apply mitigations
• Design and build dashboards, alerting, and internal admin tooling
• Integrate with third-party identity verification and data enrichment vendors

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or comparable experience
• Experience building and operating backend systems in production
• Strong coding skills in at least one general-purpose programming language
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts
• Care about the societal impacts of AI

Preferred Qualifications:

• 8+ years of industry software engineering experience
• Experience building shared platforms or foundational services
• Track record of working across functions
• Experience with identity, authentication, or authorization systems at scale
• Experience with KYC/KYB workflows or identity verification vendors
• Experience in trust and safety, integrity, fraud, or abuse detection

The annual compensation range for this role is $320,000-$485,000 USD.
