Senior Mechanical Engineer, Anduril Expeditionary Systems

Job Overview

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer with Anduril Expeditionary Systems (AES), you will be part of the Connected Warfare team, which focuses on modernizing command and control systems for U.S. and Allied forces. The AES team designs large form factor products that provide soldiers with the necessary computing and communications capabilities to succeed in various environments.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of hardware from concept to real-world deployment.
• Collaborate as part of a close-knit product team.
• Work with customers to understand and address real battlefield challenges.
• Design novel hardware solutions from scratch for specific mission sets.
• Apply engineering first-principles, analysis, and testing to ensure designs can withstand battlefield conditions.
• Develop prototypes and initial production units hands-on.
• Travel to exercises and work with warfighters to gather feedback on products.
• Refine designs and work with the manufacturing team to produce and deliver them at scale.

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in designing, prototyping, and shipping hardware.
• A track record of design ownership within a team setting.
• Strong proficiency in engineering first-principles.
• At least 8 years of professional mechanical engineering experience.
• Proficiency in CAD software and creating high-quality engineering drawings.
• Hands-on fabrication skills.
• Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in an engineering field.
• U.S. Person status due to the requirement for access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with NX/Teamcenter.
• Ability to integrate electronic components into mechanical designs.
• Familiarity with machining, sheet metal, composites, and 3D printing.
• Knowledge of static, dynamic, or thermal analysis methods using ANSYS.
• Active Top Secret Security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
