Facilities Engineer

SpaceXAI is seeking a Facilities Engineer to oversee the design, construction, operations, and maintenance of critical facilities and systems at its Memphis, TN and Southaven, MS sites.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will participate in and coordinate infrastructure projects, oversee ongoing operations and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and utilities, and apply corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance techniques.

Key responsibilities include:

• Coordinating site development projects and schedules with other groups
• Managing contractors, including requesting proposals, specifying suppliers, and overseeing construction and maintenance compliance with standards and codes
• Providing technical engineering support for construction and maintenance activities
• Commissioning, operating, and maintaining mechanical and electrical systems
• Verifying maintenance completion and coordinating repair and contingency efforts for various facility systems
• Developing cost estimates, material requisitions, plans, and specifications for projects
• Writing, negotiating, and managing construction contracts
• Preparing and coordinating capital expenditure processes
• Communicating building and maintenance activities to personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Ensuring reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations
• Responding to facility emergencies and implementing readiness procedures
• Working with the Space Force to acquire building permits

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
• 2+ years of professional experience in facilities engineering and/or construction
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• 2+ years of experience in facility maintenance (electrical, HVAC, structural) and construction (buildings, roads, drainage, foundations)
• Ability to manage complex projects independently
• Experience reading and approving shop drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals
• Precision measuring instrument experience
• AutoCAD drawing production skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Experience operating heavy machinery (boom lifts, man lifts, fork lifts, cranes)
• Microsoft Office suite proficiency

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to travel to other SpaceXAI project sites
• Exposure to extreme outdoor environments
• Availability to work extended hours and weekends
• Valid driver's license
