Lead Harnessing Technician

As a Lead Technician, you will be the first line of defense for technical troubleshooting on the production floor. You will guide a small team of technicians to build high-quality, mission-critical components that power cutting-edge aerospace and defense systems.

Responsibilities:

• Autonomously build electrical harness assemblies for aerospace and defense customers
• Provide technical and operational direction to team members to ensure quality standards and schedule are met
• Demonstrate proper techniques to new apprentice technicians
• Inspect hardware in-process to ensure conformance to specifications
• Implement daily task checklists to maintain the workcenter
• Assign and prioritize daily work per production schedule
• Communicate work plan and work completed to team and operations stakeholders to minimize interruptions and ensure continuity
• Work cross-functionally to ensure adequate support for nominal production operations
• Foster a culture of collaboration with Manufacturing, Quality, and Logistics to enhance manufacturability, streamline processes, and ensure seamless output to customers

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent certification and 3+ years as a technician in a fast-paced production environment
• Proficient in reading complex wire harness schematics and determining proper order of operations and relevant techniques
• Knowledge of soldering, wire stripping, contact crimping, contact insertion and removal, harness routing and strain relief techniques is required
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems, work order management, and BOM structures
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage cross-functional teams and present key performance data to leadership
• Passion for innovation and continuous improvement, with a hands-on approach to solving complex manufacturing challenges
• Adaptable, detail-oriented, and proactive with a strong sense of ownership
• Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as needed
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
• Must be able to stand for extended periods - 8 hours minimum
