Lead Software Engineer C++

The Desktop Experience team at Logitech is searching for a Lead Software Engineer to join their Chennai office and drive the development of next-generation software for creativity and productivity peripherals.

In this role, you will provide both hands-on technical expertise and strategic guidance, leading the evolution of products that enable seamless, intuitive digital experiences for users globally.

Responsibilities:

• Architect and drive technical solutions for next-generation software using modern C++
• Lead engineering initiatives for developing and enhancing Logitech's input peripherals
• Mentor and guide the engineering team, facilitating code reviews and technical discussions
• Oversee and direct the design, build, implementation, and maintenance of new features
• Ensure performance, scalability, and responsiveness of software
• Serve as the central technical liaison, representing the Desktop Experience engineering team in discussions with Product Management, Firmware, QA, and other business units
• Chair technical reviews of system design and interface requirements
• Guide scrum processes, promoting team health and high productivity
• Provide deep domain expertise in developing commercial software that interacts with hardware devices, especially on MacOS

Requirements:

• 8+ years of progressive software development experience
• Proven expertise designing and developing desktop applications for Mac and Windows platforms
• Expert-level C/C++ and object-oriented programming skills
• Significant experience applying software design patterns, architectural principles, and coding best practices to large-scale projects
• Deep expertise in unit testing methodologies and driving quality initiatives
• Demonstrable commercial experience developing software that interacts with hardware devices
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to guide team members, delegate responsibilities effectively, and establish practices that promote shared code ownership and continuous improvement

Education:

• B.E. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related technical field
• Higher education (M.E./M.Tech/MS) is a plus
