Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership & Operations:
  • Act as a key technical standard-bearer for the web stack, enforcing coding standards, contributing to architecture discussions, and conducting rigorous code reviews.
  • Analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and propose new technical or operational KPIs.
  • Guide the team in building smooth, high-performance, and lightweight visual elements within embedded mobile webviews.
  • Design and develop robust web systems built on the MERN stack, focusing on database efficiency, caching via Redis, and ultra-low latency under high-concurrency, live-service loads.
  • Partner with product owners and technical stakeholders during the planning phase to assess technical risks and outline mitigation strategies.
  • Delivery Collaboration:
  • Collaborate closely with the Lead Engineer to align on execution plans, technical task breakdowns, and high-impact feature delivery.
  • Provide accurate technical complexity estimates, de-risk execution paths, and take hands-on ownership of coding complex backend/API and frontend components.
  • Provide day-to-day technical mentorship and guidance to SE I and SE II engineers.

Qualifications

  • Core Requirements:
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a solid history of delivering robust web systems.
  • Strong, production-proven experience with React.js and Node.js (MERN stack).
  • Experience conducting thorough code reviews, establishing best practices, and mentoring junior/mid-level developers.
  • Exceptional debugging, performance-profiling, and troubleshooting skills across both frontend and backend layers.
  • Strong communication skills with a track record of partnering successfully with Lead Engineers, Product Owners, or Technical Directors.
  • Exposure to scaling web applications, including using caching strategies with Redis or handling high-concurrency environments.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience developing and optimizing web pages to run smoothly inside mobile webviews or resource-constrained mobile browsers.
  • Familiarity or prior experience with HTML5 Canvas (2D/WebGL) and animation libraries (like GSAP or PixiJS).

Benefits

  • Electronic Arts adopts a holistic approach to benefits programs, emphasizing physical, emotional, financial, professional, and community well-being.
  • Packages are customized to meet local needs and may include medical assistance, mental health support, retirement savings, paid time off, family leaves, free games, and more.
