Description

As a 2nd Shift Product Design Technician - Level II at Cummins Inc., you will play a crucial role in delivering accurate, production-ready designs by creating and maintaining high-quality drawings and CAD models. Your work will contribute to improving product quality and reliability, protecting configuration integrity, driving compliance and consistency, enabling engineering efficiency, strengthening cross-functional collaboration, enhancing drawing and model quality, and contributing to continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating and maintaining high-quality drawings and CAD models that clearly communicate engineering intent
  • Applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to ensure parts fit, function, and perform as intended
  • Using CAD data management and configuration control processes to ensure correct revisions, models, and documentation
  • Ensuring all specifications adhere to Cummins standards and applicable industry, national, and international requirements
  • Processing engineering work requests accurately and promptly
  • Collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and other functional teams to resolve design issues and align requirements
  • Participating in Drawing Quality Reviews to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Contributing to continuous improvement by maintaining and refining design standards, best practices, and quality processes

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following skills and abilities:

Education, licenses, and certifications required:

  • High school diploma, certificate of completion of secondary education, or equivalent experience in an appropriate STEM field
  • Regionally applicable certification or two-year Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field of study may be required
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations

Some work experience and intermediate-level knowledge obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience are required.
