Description
We are seeking a Physiotherapy Assistant to join our team at Three Shires Hospital in Northampton. This is a bank role working on an 'as and when required' basis, supporting staffing levels during busy periods and providing cover for existing staff.
The successful candidate will assist with the delivery of physiotherapy interventions as directed by a registered Physiotherapist. Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting patients with prescribed exercises, mobility practice, and therapeutic activities in a safe and compassionate manner
- Observing and reporting patients' responses to treatment and any concerns to the supervising therapist
- Setting up and preparing treatment areas and equipment for therapy sessions
- Supporting patients in the safe use of mobility aids, walking frames, or other therapy tools
- Assisting with the maintenance, cleaning, and storage of equipment in line with infection prevention and control standards
To be considered for this role, applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Experience working in a healthcare, care, or rehabilitation setting
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- A caring, patient-focused approach and commitment to promoting independence
- Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification
- Previous experience in a physiotherapy or therapy assistant role
- Knowledge of mobility aids, basic anatomy, or therapeutic exercises
- Familiarity with hospital systems and electronic documentation
