Description
Join Bayer Crop Science as a Kansas City Engineering Intern and gain hands-on experience working with talented Engineering and Maintenance teams. You'll develop and coordinate efforts that make a real impact, contributing to meaningful projects that drive innovation and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with engineers and staff to enhance chemical processes, improve yields, reduce waste, and cut down cycle times.
- Help shape project objectives and scope by analyzing stakeholder requirements and basic design packages.
- Ensure all projects and activities align with engineering standards, safety and environmental regulations, and plant operating protocols.
- Work with facilities and reliability engineers to understand maintenance, procurement, and reliability programs in chemical plants.
- Perform and verify engineering calculations using standard methods and principles.
- Conduct engineering cost, feasibility, and planning studies and provide recommendations based on stakeholder needs and data analysis.
- Team up with production and technical staff for process troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Contribute to the implementation of Operational Excellence program and support site-wide Process Improvement/Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Successfully completed at least your sophomore year with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Able to commute daily to Kansas City, MO site.
- Available for the internship period (May 17 – August 6, 2027).
- Willing and able to climb stairs and ladders and ready to work in a dynamic chemical plant environment.
