Description
You will manage the flow of materials through the facility to support production flows within the production and warehousing operations at Ford Motor Company.
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support for material flow processes, document standards and procedures, and provide training to ensure materials are available in designated stock locations throughout the facility.
- Collaborate with Planning & Inventory Control, Production, Material Handlers, and Supply Chain to establish robust policies and strive for continuous improvement.
- Apply technical expertise to develop material flow processes and equipment.
- Design and develop material flow processes and equipment.
- Recommend changes to increase safety, reduce costs, improve quality, and optimize efficiency.
- Participate in plant layout activities and develop floor space analyses to confirm storage requirements.
- Assist in qualifying manual and powered material handling equipment requirements.
- Improve material flow and manage materials and inventory consistent with Lean principles.
- Lay out market, sequencing, and kitting areas to facilitate material handling, process flow, space utilization, and labor.
- Define and manage in-plant storage and call systems to maintain inventories.
- Provide vehicle and pedestrian flow/congestion/safety analyses and recommend practical solutions.
- Interact with other functional groups and vendors on technical and administrative matters.
- Prepare detailed plans, develop and approve schedule milestones, and coordinate labor, facility, and equipment requirements for assigned projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 2 or more years of materials experience.
- Preferred qualifications include:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. + Demonstrated experience working with all levels of the organization. + Experience working collaboratively on teams and driving demonstrated leadership behaviors. + Outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills. + Experience working in a manufacturing plant environment. + Tenure working in the automotive industry. + Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook/Access). + Knowledge of AutoCAD. + Validated functional expertise in material flow. + Strong understanding of lean material flow strategies and lean manufacturing processes.

Salary
The salary range for this position is:
- Salary grade 6: $72,480 - $121,440
- Salary grade 7: $84,480 - $141,360
- Salary grade 8: $96,720 - $162,120
