Relief Security Officer

We are seeking a Relief Security Officer to provide support, management, and delivery of Security within the Swan Shopping Centre environment in Birmingham. The successful candidate will be accountable to the SSM for ensuring exemplary standards of security and customer service are always provided to the client and visitors to the site.

The purpose of the role is to provide relief cover for planned and unplanned absences.

Key responsibilities include:

• Ensuring the security and safety of customer buildings and personnel
• Protecting the security and safety of identified buildings and personnel on site
• Completing assigned tasks in a professional and timely manner, meeting relevant legislation
• Following site Assignment and Emergency Instructions
• Preventing accidents, injuries, crime, fire, and damage
• Working in line with onsite procedures, risk assessments, method statements, assignment instructions, and emergency procedures
• Complying with the Data Protection Act
• Providing a visible deterrent and reassuring the public
• Aiding in reducing crime
• Ensuring criminal offenders are apprehended and handed over to local authorities
• Maintaining personal notebooks in accordance with PACE Act 1984
• Undertaking duties in a safe and secure manner
• Providing an efficient, helpful, and smart image at all times
• Alerting the Control room operator of suspicious persons
• Being vigilant for suspicious packages or parcels
• Checking the mall and building for potential fire hazards
• Conducting mall patrols
• Monitoring and checking toilet areas
• Enforcing Centre's code of Conduct
• Stopping bicycles or skateboards being ridden through the mall
• Reporting incidents and completing incident reports
• Following health and safety procedures
• Maintaining confidentiality regarding company information

Requirements:
