Description
Pinterest is looking for a Sr. Staff Quantitative Product Researcher to lead the development and evolution of user-centered measurement across its consumer experience.
As the volume of measurement asks grows, the company needs a seasoned researcher who can partner with Data Science and Engineering as an equal, guiding the direction of how Pinterest measures the Pinner experience.
In this role, you'll own the full arc of measurement work: identifying what should be measured, designing surveys, validating metrics, guiding experimentation plans, and partnering with DS and Eng to build behavioral proxies or predictive models.
You'll also extend this work into evaluating and maintaining the systems that depend on these metrics, informing when models need retraining, and stress-testing where models do and don't hold up.
The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of quantitative user research experience with large-scale consumer data, deep expertise in survey methodology, statistical modeling, experimentation at scale, and behavioral analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of user-centered metrics end-to-end
- Extend measurement work into model stewardship
- Conduct deep-dive learning analyses to uncover drivers and levers behind key metrics
- Set and execute the learning agenda across a broad problem space
- Show up as an equal partner to Data Science and Engineering
- Synthesize across behavioral analyses, experiment results, and qualitative insights to inform product and business decisions
- Present to senior leadership and tailor socialization for those audiences
- Partner with research managers to set quantitative research direction and mentor more junior quantitative researchers
Requirements:
- 7+ years of quantitative user research experience with large-scale consumer data
- Deep expertise in survey methodology, statistical modeling, experimentation at scale, and behavioral analysis
- Experience informing ML model evaluation and maintenance
- Fluency in R or Python and SQL, and strong data visualization skills
- Demonstrated ability to operate as a peer to Data Science and Engineering
- Proactive and able to identify important questions and problems
- Experience working horizontally across teams, developing strategy with partners, and presenting to senior leadership
- Experience successfully leveraging AI tools in the research process
- PhD preferred in a computational social science, statistics, computer science, or related field
Benefits:
- Base salary range: $163,639-$336,903 USD
- Equity eligibility
