Description
Electronic Arts is seeking a Senior Software Developer to work on a multimodal capture platform. As a senior developer, you will be responsible for designing and developing a shared platform for capturing synchronized, multimodal data from Electronic Arts game engines.
You will create reusable systems that allow researchers and game teams to collect rendering, simulations, inputs, audio resources, and play signals through a consistent technical interface.
Responsibilities:
- Develop the architecture for a reusable in-engine multimodal capture software development kit.
- Establish timing references and synchronization contracts between rendering, simulation, input, audio, and play systems.
- Develop common capture interfaces for pre- and post-interface color, depth, normals, motion, camera, input, physics, animation, game state, and action events.
- Define buffering, serialization, encoding mechanisms, session manifests, schema evolution, and delivery contracts for certified raw data capture sessions.
- Profile and optimize instrumentation to manage performance, memory, GPU, storage, and stability costs within complex real-time systems.
- Collaborate with game integrators to create reusable adapters and reproducible integration methods for different game architectures.
- Design prototypes to evaluate new capture techniques and guide their transition to supported platform capabilities.
Requirements:
- At least 12 years of professional software development experience, including AAA game engines or comparable real-time systems.
- Expertise in C++ and software architecture within large, multi-faceted codebases.
- Experience in multiple engine-related areas, such as rendering, simulation, gameplay systems, animation, physics, audio resources, tools, or content processing pipelines.
- Experience with system design for instrumentation, telemetry, capture, replay, or observability for performance-critical software.
- Previous experience developing software development kits, application programming interfaces, or platform abstractions for developers used by multiple teams.
- Experience with Python and continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools like Jenkins and GitLab.
- Technical leadership experience through architecture, code reviews, mentoring, and influencing team members.
Benefits:
- Competitive salary: $169,500 - $242,600 CAD per year.
- Comprehensive benefits package, including vacation time, sick leave, extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, and retirement plan.
