Description
The Leidos Defense Group is seeking a Tech II Shipboard Installer at its San Diego, CA office. The role involves using experience to support the ILC mission, which conducts maintenance, modernization, and installation of ASW sonar systems.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct MCT/MCP Testing, including opening, closing, documenting, and testing unsupervised
- Perform Cable Testing, including conducting cable continuity and megger testing without supervision
- Carry out Cable Cutting, including proper cable cutting and end preparation methods without supervision
- Install Cable/Cableway, including all types of cable and cableway installations required by the job without supervision
- Plan and support system and installation tasks, including planning cable runs and other installation tasks
- Interpret red line drawings associated with electrical systems
- Conduct WAF/TUMS/Lockout/Tag-out Enforcement
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures applicable to installation work
- Mentor team members on safety and ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations and procedures
Requirements:
- HS diploma or equivalent and 3 years of direct experience conducting field installation projects
- Fiber Optic cable handler certified to 8477552A
- Fiber Optic Connector qualified
- Copper Connector Qualified Mil Standard
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to climb ladders
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license
- Valid Passport
- Connector Fabricator Qualified (Copper and/or Fiber)
- OSHA 10
Salary Range: $40,300.00 - $72,850.00
