Teacher Internship -Paid

As a Special Education Teacher Intern at The Menta Education Group, you will educate a small classroom of students in a self-contained setting at Harbourview Academy, near Phoenix Sky Harbor. Our social-emotional learning environments combine engaged and inquiry-based academics with a P.B.I.S. structure.

Responsibilities

• Engage with special education curriculum and teach diverse learners
• Teach all subjects in a classroom setting
• Provide a differentiated learning environment
• Collaborate with staff, including curriculum and clinical staff
• Personalize learning for students
• Provide a social-emotional learning environment
• Manage a classroom of around 10 students with paraprofessional support
• Receive professional development and support

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; Valid General Education Teaching Certificate with willingness to pursue Special Ed Certification or Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Health & Human Services)
• Experience working with students with special education disabilities (autism, emotional disturbance, traumatic brain injury, etc.)
• Strong problem-solving skills, organized, and positive attitude
