Description
NVIDIA is seeking a Firmware Engineer to join the System Control Firmware team. The successful candidate will work on designing, implementing, and securing foundational software for NVIDIA's Tegra SoC architecture.
The role involves:
- Core Firmware Development: designing, implementing, and optimizing low-level C firmware for the Boot and Power Management Processor (BPMP)
- Active Program Support: providing technical support to active product programs
- Global Collaboration: partnering with hardware, software, and safety architecture teams
- Debug & Test Automation: diagnosing complex hardware/software boundary failures and writing comprehensive unit/integration tests
Requirements include:
- BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of professional experience in embedded firmware development, low-level C programming, and memory-mapped register access
- Technical leadership and influence in complex projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with AI agents or LLM-assisted workflows
- Knowledge of SoC boot flows, interrupts, linker/build systems, and device tree-based configurations
- Familiarity with low-level SoC infrastructure and hardware interface expertise
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience with Rust language for systems programming
- Background working under ISO 26262 functional safety standards
- Familiarity with secure boot concepts and hardware/software boundary security
