Assistant Manager - Supplier Process Engineering

We are seeking an Assistant Manager - Supplier Process Engineering to join our team at American Honda Motor Company. As a key member of our supply chain organisation, you will play a crucial role in advancing our ability to improve supply chain stability with a single and efficient regional mindset.

Job Purpose The mission of this role is to contribute to maintaining strong delivery characteristics with a regional viewpoint in order to support smooth production operations across North American manufacturing facilities, ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key Accountabilities

• Manage and direct situation appraisal and analysis of a supplier crisis on a specific part or assembly process
• Manage and oversee implementation of immediate corrective action plans at critical suppliers
• Escalate communication, interaction, and summary reviews with suppliers and HDMA Management
• Manage critical proactive projects, such as Capacity Management, LMPR, A-Rank NARS reporting, and shutdowns
• Support reporting and Gemba activity for root cause analysis and countermeasure implementation to solve complex problems
• Strive for continuous improvement through cycling Plan-Do-Check-Action (PDCA) for areas of responsibility
• Manage a team of direct report associates

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent related experience
• 8+ years of relevant engineering experience
• Manufacturing process knowledge (stamping, welding, assembly, material flow, electronics, injection moulding, paint, casting, machining, etc.)
• Honda delivery systems knowledge (GPCS)

Working Conditions

• Strong sense of urgency and flexibility to respond to critical issues and unplanned risk events
• Ability to travel at a moment's notice to confirm supplier situations (up to 33% of time)
• Ability to work in an open office environment, at suppliers' operations, or conduct business virtually
• Ability to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift on a limited basis to support on-site supplier crises
• Ability to work up to 5-15 hours of overtime per week as needed
