Job Summary

As a Principal Software Engineer - Models at CoreWeave, you will own the frontend architecture of the W&B app, a critical product used daily by ML researchers and engineers. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the app's performance, stability, and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the frontend architecture of the W&B Models app
  • Ensure optimal performance, stability, and reliability of the app
  • Collaborate with backend and platform teams on API design and optimization
  • Set performance targets and drive the work necessary to meet them
  • Manage cross-team requirements within the Models system
  • Propose and implement significant overhauls to improve the app's performance and capabilities

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience building user-facing software with deep expertise in frontend architecture and performance
  • Proven experience leading the transformation of large, long-lived React applications with a focus on performance and product impact
  • Strong command of React, TypeScript, GraphQL, and modern state management approaches
  • Real performance engineering skills, including instrumentation, trace analysis, and performance improvement
  • Solid understanding of client-side caching fundamentals
  • Hands-on experience with bundlers and build tooling
  • Backend depth to design systems at a high level and propose new API architectures
  • Track record of validating ideas, coordinating across engineering teams, and sequencing work across organizational boundaries

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience introducing automated enforcement mechanisms such as lint rules, CI gates, or performance budgets
  • Background in data-dense or visualization-heavy applications
  • Familiarity with observability tooling such as Datadog RUM and APM
  • Working knowledge of Go or a similar backend language
  • Exposure to ML, MLOps, or AI agent workflows
  • Experience with highly configurable products

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary range: $227,000 to $303,000
