As a Software Architect - Enterprise AI (L6) at Twilio, you will define and drive the vision, software architecture, and establish the AI/ML platforms across all business functions internally at Twilio. This role requires a deep understanding of AI/ML platforms, full-stack software architecture, a strategic system design mindset, and the ability to drive innovation and efficiency across the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and model a high-performance culture of our Software Engineering team.
  • Grow and mentor senior technical leaders, building a durable culture of engineering excellence.
  • Lead architecture for the Enterprise AI engineering platform and products, ensuring consistency and quality through cross-product reviews and shared standards.
  • Partner closely with product, engineering, and executive partners to shape where we're headed.
  • Own the most complex engineering problems at enterprise scale.
  • Present to executive leadership on our AI Engineering plans and deliverables.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work across different verticals (Support, Sales, Marketing, Operations, etc.) to ideate, develop, and implement new AI/ML solutions that drive business growth.
  • Cultivate a team of builders and owners that collaborate, grow and continuously improve together.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience designing and scaling distributed systems and platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to set technical vision and strategy at an enterprise or company-wide level.
  • Expertise in system design, reliability, scalability, security, and cost optimization for large-scale architectures.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and resolving highly complex, ambiguous technical problems.
  • Proven record of mentoring senior engineering talent and elevating organizational standards.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, influence, and leadership skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Location: This role will be remote and based in Ontario, British Columbia or Alberta, Canada.

Compensation: The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows: $234,880 - $293,600 CAD. Target Bonus Percentage 20%. The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
