Sr. Manager, Solutions Architect SME

GitLab is seeking a Sr. Manager, Solutions Architect SME to lead a regional team of product Subject Matter Experts. The successful candidate will build and lead a team covering four product groups: Security & Compliance, Platform, Core DevSecOps, and AI & Competitive. Key responsibilities include:

• Hire, develop, and retain a regional team of SMEs
• Run the regional engagement model with Account SA and Post-Sales leaders
• Partner with regional sales leaders on deal strategy and forecasting
• Review SME coverage weekly against the regional pipeline
• Step into strategic deals as an executive technical sponsor
• Coach SMEs on technical wins and competitive positioning
• Keep engagement and outcome data accurate in Salesforce
• Work with peer regional managers and the Senior Director on shared assets and enablement programs
• Bring regional customer and competitive signals to Product and Engineering
• Build a team culture of trust, ownership, and learning

Requirements:

• 5+ years experience leading technical pre-sales, solutions architecture, or consulting
• Hands-on depth in at least one of the four product groups
• Record of hiring and developing high-performing technical specialists
• Experience partnering with sales leaders on enterprise forecasts and deal strategy
• Comfort with data analysis and showing team impact
• Strong executive presence with customers and internal leaders
• Experience leading through change and running an overlay or specialist team
