Description
We are seeking a Senior Building Control Surveyor to join our Building Control team at Bromley.
The successful candidate will be a Class 2F Registered Building Inspector, working towards Class 3, with experience in building control project management for residential and commercial developments, as well as dealing with dangerous structures.
The role involves day-to-day management of an area for plan checking and carrying out site inspections, working with other Council services to deliver improvements to existing buildings such as leisure centres, libraries, and housing projects.
The ideal candidate will have good problem-solving skills and excellent communication skills to explain technical terms and regulations clearly to members of the public and other professionals.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing supervision to Class 1 RBI's at plan checking and site inspection stages
- Dealing with a day-to-day management of an area for plan checking and carrying out site inspections
- Working with other Council services to deliver improvements to existing buildings
The service operates a flexible approach to remote working; however, you will be required to carry out site inspections within the borough on a daily basis and take a turn on out of hours standby for attending and dealing with dangerous structures within the Borough.
