Description
We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team in the Outpatients department at The Sloane Hospital in Kent. This is a bank role working on an 'as and when required' basis, with a salary of up to £20.00 per hour depending on experience, training, and qualifications.
The successful candidate will deliver direct nursing care in line with patient care plans and clinical protocols, assess patient needs, prioritize care, and update care plans accordingly. They will also monitor vital signs, recognize changes in condition, and escalate appropriately using clinical judgement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering direct nursing care in line with patient care plans and clinical protocols
- Assessing patient needs, prioritizing care, and updating care plans
- Monitoring vital signs, recognizing changes in condition, and escalating appropriately
- Administering medications safely and effectively in accordance with hospital policies and the NMC Code
- Maintaining accurate, legible, and timely nursing documentation
- Ensuring that all care provided complies with NMC standards, clinical governance requirements, and hospital policies
- Identifying and reporting incidents, safeguarding concerns, and potential risks
To be considered for this role, applicants should have:
- Valid NMC registration as a Registered Nurse (Adult)
- Demonstrable experience working in a clinical healthcare setting
- Good understanding of clinical governance, patient safety, and evidence-based practice
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Proficiency in IT systems used for patient records, documentation, and care planning
- Previous experience in a relevant specialty (e.g., surgical, medical, outpatient, orthopaedics, critical care) is desirable
- Experience in out-patients and phlebotomy is desirable
