Legal Product Builder

As a Legal Product Builder, you will sit at the cutting edge of building technology around the practice of law.

You will build AI-powered legal products alongside engineers and product managers, bringing deep legal expertise into the product development process, helping turn complex legal work into scalable, agent-driven experiences.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Translating legal judgement into systems
• Teaching our agents what "good" looks like
• Evaluating and improving agent performance
• Prototyping new legal capabilities

You will join Carta Law, an AI-native legal services firm that sits at the intersection of legal expertise and cutting-edge technology.

Requirements include:

• Legal background with 4+ years of substantive training and experience
• Product thinking with a demonstrated track record of identifying where legal workflows break down and proposing solutions
• Technical fluency with comfort communicating with engineers
• Strong written communication and autonomy

Nice to have:

• Direct commercial contract negotiation experience
• Prior experience at a legal tech company or in a hybrid legal/product role
• Familiarity with contract automation, document intelligence, or negotiation tooling
• Founder experience or having built something from scratch

The salary range for this role is $166,000 - $196,000 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
