Description

We are seeking a Steering Program Control Engineer to join our team in Naucalpan de Juarez, Mexico. As a Steering Program Control Engineer, you will be responsible for steering programs being run to meet product development milestones on time. You will also ensure the quality of the information loaded as evidence to meet each deliverable for design rules, requirements, and governmental regulations, consolidating, tracking, and reporting across all global vehicle programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand and apply Ford Product development process (GPDS).
  • Ensure compliance to Program cost, weight, quality, performance, and timing targets.
  • Understand and apply GPDS process, creating and maintaining track of global steering milestones.
  • Support the Steering Program Control Team in monitoring GPDS integrator to ensure global steering deliverables are on track for upcoming programs gateways.
  • Gather and extract program status information from multiple internal sources, Power BI, dashboards, GPDS, FEDE, and other Ford reporting sites.
  • Design and maintain a Standard Tool for status updates that aligns with Ford’s corporate metrics, ensuring its use for the engineering team to fill and update.
  • Prepare summary decks with data visualization for periodical reviews.
  • Identify roadblocks and help the team resolve them and achieve milestones on time.
  • Participate actively in identifying needs to be on time for every gateway in GPDS.
  • Encourage proactively the team to meet all deliverables for each milestone.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Degree in Engineering (Industrial preferred, Mechanical, Mechatronic, etc.) or related field.
  • Familiarity with PowerBI, Basic Macros (VBA).
  • Program Management experience.
  • Experience in engineering changes implementation.
  • Experience applying/using GPDS or APQP preferred.
  • Experience in PPAP process, preferred.
  • Knowledge in steering system and steering components, like steering gear, steering column, etc. Preferred.
  • High-level English proficiency required (C1).
