This is a senior finance leadership role acting as the principal Finance Business Partner to Technology, supporting the CTOO and Technology leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Financial Leadership:

  • Serve as the principal financial adviser to Technology leadership, shaping and executing financial strategy aligned to Group priorities, Efficient Growth targets and enterprise transformation.
  • Drive long-term value creation through strategic planning, capital allocation and investment prioritisation across Technology.
  • Lead financial scenario modelling and strategic trade-off discussions for major transformation initiatives.

Financial Planning, Analysis & Reporting:

  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting for Technology.
  • Develop and maintain robust financial models to support strategic decision-making, cost optimisation, and performance management.
  • Provide clear, decision-oriented insights for C‑suite, GEC and Board‑level discussions.
  • Ensure alignment between Technology plans and Group financial targets.

Cost Management, Efficiency & VCC Economics:

  • Lead cost management and optimisation initiatives across Technology.
  • Drive transparency of recharges to LBUs, ensuring they are explainable and defensible, avoiding cost distortions and under‑recovery.

Technology Investment, Transformation & ROI:

  • Evaluate, prioritise, and monitor technology investments, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and maximising return on investment (ROI).
  • Lead financial due diligence and business case assessments for new technology initiatives, including digital transformation, IT security, Data & AI and maximising opportunities to leverage VCC.

Financial Governance, Risk & Control:

  • Ensure strong financial governance, controls and compliance across portfolio.
  • Oversee financial risk management, proactively identifying and mitigating cost leakage and inefficiencies and structure issues in allocation and recharge models.

Stakeholder Management & Business Partnering:

  • Act as a trusted business partner to Technology leadership and the intersect with Group Finance and LBU CFOs.
  • Provide constructive challenge, commercial insight and fact-based recommendations.
  • Champion cross-functional collaboration across Finance, Technology and Transformation teams.

Capability Building:

  • Provide coaching, guidance and mentorship to finance business partner resources supporting Technology, fostering consistency in insight quality, commercial rigour and decision support.
  • Foster a culture of commercial excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Strategic financial leadership: Shapes Technology strategy through investment prioritisation, scenario modelling and long-term value creation.
  • Technology investment & cost management: Leads governance of Technology spend, optimizing cost while maximizing ROI across major initiatives.
  • Executive business partnering: Proven ability as a trusted adviser to senior Technology leadership, influencing key decisions and strategic direction.
  • Insight & performance leadership: Oversees planning and forecasting and translates complex financial data into clear, forward-looking insights for senior forums.
  • Leadership across a distributed model: Drives consistency, quality and capability across aligned finance resources through coaching and influence.
  • Stakeholder navigation: Operates effectively in a complex, matrixed environment with multiple senior stakeholders.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline.
  • Professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent).
  • ~15 – 20 years’ finance experience, including time in senior leadership roles.
  • Proven track record in group-level business partnering, cost transformation and investment governance.
