Finance & Strategy Lead, Claude Platform (API)

About the role

The Finance & Strategy Lead will own the financial strategy for the Claude Platform (API), designing business models and pricing strategies. This role involves working closely with product, engineering, and go-to-market leaders to shape the platform's economics.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the financial strategy for the Claude Platform (API)
• Design and launch new business models and pricing strategies
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to balance adoption, capacity, and margin
• Analyze and optimize pricing and product decisions with infrastructure and inference teams
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to executive leadership
• Define metrics and build dashboards to track pricing and business model performance
• Mentor Product Finance team members

Minimum qualifications

• Experience in strategic finance, product finance, or a related field
• Hands-on experience with consumption-based or usage-based business models
• Understanding of infrastructure, cloud, or developer platform businesses
• Track record of designing and launching new pricing or business models
• Advanced financial modeling skills and experience with SQL
• Strong communication and analytical skills
• Interest in AI and commitment to Anthropic's mission

Preferred qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in strategic finance, product finance, or related fields
• Experience pricing APIs, developer tools, or cloud infrastructure services
• Familiarity with enterprise commercial structures and cloud marketplaces
• Background in AI, ML, or related technologies

Logistics

• Annual salary: $325,000 - $425,000 USD
• Location-based hybrid policy: 25% office time
