Description
As an iOS Software Engineer, you will build and maintain the PayPal POS app used by small businesses to take payments, run checkout, and manage their shop.
You will work on features across the app experience, from first sign-in and bootstrap to checkout, receipts, refunds, and invoices, and learn how it connects to card readers and Tap to Pay on iPhone.
The PayPal POS app, formerly known as Zettle Go, is used by merchants to take card and tap payments, run checkout, manage their product library and inventory, issue receipts, handle refunds and invoices, and see what they earned.
Responsibilities:
- Implement tasks within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Follow well-established internal conventions and standard procedures
- Understand internal standards and processes and apply them to make technical decisions
- Collaborate with peers, manager, and project lead to gain understanding of tasks and review solutions
- Contribute to code and design reviews
Requirements:
- 1+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong Swift skills
- Hands-on experience with SwiftUI and/or UIKit, networking, local persistence, and concurrency
- Experience with unit and UI testing and CI/CD pipelines for mobile apps
- Understanding of secure handling of sensitive data on device
- Clear written and spoken English
Nice to Have:
- Objective-C, GraphQL clients, Apple Tap to Pay on iPhone
- Experience with in-app payments, Bluetooth peripherals, or NFC
- Familiarity with payments and a sense of care for the merchants and customers who depend on the product
