Physical Therapist I - Acute Care Rehab

We are seeking a passionate Physical Therapist I to join our Acute Care Rehab team at Atrium Health Cleveland in Shelby, North Carolina. As a Physical Therapist I, you will evaluate, plan, direct, and administer programs of Physical Therapy (PT) in an inpatient acute level setting. Your goal will be to restore function, prevent disability, and help patients reach their maximum level of independence.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct therapy services to patients admitted to a level of care where service provision is required 7 days a week, including holidays.
• Evaluate patients, select and administer assessment techniques, synthesize information to establish appropriate patient care plans.
• Gather and interpret data from medical records, physician reports, patients, and families.
• Document evaluations, tests, progress notes, daily treatment notes, attendance records, patient/family education, outcomes, discharge notes, and charges.
• Communicate patient evaluations and progress to physicians, referral sources, and other clinical staff.
• Coordinate patient schedules and treatment programs, and plan for discharge.
• Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) and Rehab Tech/Aides as required.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy program required.
• NC license for Physical Therapy required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Physical Requirements:

• Hearing (corrected) adequate for oral/aural communication.
• Vision (corrected) adequate for reading.
• Intelligible speech and adequate language/cognitive skills.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, kneel, twist, bend, crouch, crawl, and reach overhead.
• Ability to lift patients, equipment, or supplies up to 20 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
