Description

As a Lead Java Platform Engineer, you will design, develop, and deploy cloud-native applications using Java and Spring Boot. You will work with architects, product teams, and platform engineers to build scalable solutions, implementing modern DevOps and GitOps practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy Java-based microservices using Spring Boot.
  • Build cloud-native solutions using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.
  • Develop and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines using Tekton, Cloud Build, and Argo CD.
  • Implement GitOps practices and deployment automation across multiple environments.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Define and implement architecture patterns that support scalability, availability, observability, and resilience.
  • Manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Optimize application performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Design and maintain PostgreSQL databases, including schema design and query optimization.
  • Integrate SonarQube into development workflows to improve code quality, security, and maintainability.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Establish and promote engineering best practices for cloud-native development and CI/CD adoption.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
  • Experience designing, developing, and deploying microservices architectures.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Strong expertise in Docker and Kubernetes, including deployment, orchestration, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Tekton, Cloud Build, and Argo CD.
  • Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, including relational database design, indexing, and query optimization.
  • Experience using SonarQube for code quality analysis, security scanning, and governance.
  • Knowledge of software design principles, application scalability, and resilience patterns.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.

Preferred

  • Experience implementing GitOps methodologies.
  • Exposure to cloud security and infrastructure automation practices.
  • Experience with observability and monitoring tools.
  • Knowledge of enterprise-scale platform engineering practices.
