Shift Fitter

We are seeking a skilled Shift Fitter to join our team at Poplars AD Plant in Cannock. As a Shift Fitter, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our anaerobic digestion facility's safe, efficient, and reliable operation through proactive maintenance and rapid fault response.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform planned and reactive maintenance across the plant.
• Quickly diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs.
• Support installation work and equipment improvements.
• Drive plant reliability, uptime, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with operations teams to minimise downtime.
• Coordinate specialist maintenance activities with contractors.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Support preventative maintenance programmes and root cause analysis.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Mechanical or Electrical Fitter role.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience working in a fast-paced process, manufacturing, waste, water, or industrial environment.
• Understanding of planned preventative maintenance principles.
• Ability to prioritise and respond effectively to breakdowns.
• Relevant Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification preferred.

Working Conditions:

• Average 42 hours per week.
• Shift pattern: 4 days on, 4 days off, 4 nights on, 4 days off.
• Day shifts: 07:00 – 19:00, Night shifts: 19:00 – 07:00.
• 10% additional payment for night shifts worked between 19:00 and 07:00.
• Plus paid 26 cover shifts per year.
