Manager, External Reporting & Accounting

The Manager, External Reporting & Accounting will play a key role in preparing statutory and non-statutory returns to regulatory bodies, including BNM, LIAM, and other statutory bodies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare statutory and non-statutory returns, including MFRS 4 and MFRS 17 submissions
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of reported numbers through relevant reconciliations
• Participate in technical discussions and assessments for IFRS/MFRS 17 and new accounting standards/regulatory reporting requirements
• Involve in month-end closing, including journal postings, preparing reconciliations, and regulatory reports
• Prepare documentation for all processes and accounting policies
• Assess and analyse financial performance regularly
• Propose and implement procedures and systems to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency
• Prepare statutory financial statements and manage annual audit requirements
• Manage regulatory/industry associations/external stakeholders' queries
• Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Direct Manager

Requirements:

• Degree in Finance/Accounting related discipline or Professional qualification (ACA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent)
• Minimum 7 years related working experience
• Ability to work with diverse personalities across various disciplines, cultures, and business practices
• Good interpersonal skills, able to work independently to meet all deliverables timelines
• Result-oriented with a sense of urgency to follow up with project-related matters to resolution
• Comfortable working with uncertainty and highly adaptable to change
• Understanding of general IFRS and IAS principles
• Demonstrable interest in IFRS 17 and related knowledge would be beneficial
• Preferably candidate from life insurance industry and/or audit background
