Description
The North London NHS Foundation Trust (NLFT) is recruiting one full-time Specialty Doctor to work in the In-Patient Services on acute wards in Highgate West Mental Health Centre.
The post holder needs to have 4 years of experience post-graduation, 2 years of this to be in psychiatry.
The post holder will be required to provide clinical and professional input to the ward team and to take part in related service development activities alongside the Consultant and Ward Manager.
The post will offer the opportunity to perform clinical assessments of individuals with mental health problems including mental state examination, history taking, and attendance of meetings with the multidisciplinary team. Additional opportunities will include Mental Health Act Assessments, tribunal report writing and attendance as well as leading MDT meetings/work.
The post holder will work closely with the multidisciplinary team-consultant, other doctors, physician assistants, nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers and discharge coordinators. The care delivered is recovery-focused, placing emphasis on individuals strengths and goals for the future.
The post holder will gain experience within the full spectrum of psychiatric morbidity.

Requirements:
- GMC Registration
- 4 Years post grad experience
- Previous experience in Psychiatric or foundation training
- Excellent communication skills
Working Conditions:
- The post holder may be required from time to time to work at different locations to their normal place of work.
- The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.
