Description
Electronic Arts is seeking a Systems Software Engineer to join the EA SPORTS NHL team in Vancouver, British Columbia. As a Systems Software Engineer, you will work on integrating primary technologies and features in a massive codebase, improving performance, utility, and capabilities, and contributing to core EA technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Integrate primary technologies and features in a massive codebase, merging modern and legacy designs across multiple hardware architectures.
- Improve memory, load times, and performance.
- Debug a range of defects in development environments.
- Look for ways to increase team efficiency through automation, tooling, or workflow enhancements.
- Contribute to core EA technologies to promote collaborative development efforts.
- Work with technical and non-technical co-workers to create practical designs that meet player expectations.
- Mentor other software engineering team members.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of C++ development experience.
- Experience with software engineering and architectural design.
- Understanding of memory management, file systems, multi-core processing, and performance.
- Experience with profiling tools to monitor and diagnose issues.
- Experience with build systems, pipelines, and source control.
- Experience with codebases supporting multiple compilers and architectures.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent training and professional experience.
- Experience integrating and maintaining large-scale systems and legacy codebases, covering multiple disciplines.
- Experience with multiple programming languages (Python, Lua, C#).
- Previous experience shipping console products.
- Experience with assembly.
- Experience in utilizing AI-assisted development tools to rapid prototype, accelerate execution, and automate workflows.
