As an AI Engineer Intern, you will focus on developing, prototyping, and integrating machine learning models and neural networks into production animation workflows.
You will design, train, and evaluate machine learning models for 3D character deformation and automated facial performance. You will collaborate with software engineers, technical artists, and AI scientists to build practical, intelligent tools that automate complex character deformation and enhance artist workflows.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing, training, and evaluating machine learning models tailored for 3D character deformation and automated facial performance
- Writing application code and training neural networks using raw 3D capture data and high-fidelity reference assets
- Integrating AI systems into the character pipeline stack using Python and USD schemas
- Packaging and deploying code and model environments using Docker
- Collaborating with software engineers, technical artists, and AI scientists
Requirements:
- Enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Graphics, or a related technical discipline
- Practical programming skills in Python and a solid foundation in machine learning, specifically deep learning and neural network architectures
- Experience training, evaluating, and fine-tuning models using frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
- Working knowledge of fundamental 3D geometry concepts, linear algebra, and coordinate transformations
- Practical experience containerizing applications with Docker and collaborating through Git
- Familiarity with USD, digital content creation APIs in Maya or Houdini, model inference optimization, or AI coding agents
