We are seeking a highly skilled Seat Complete Engineer to join our team at Ford in Naucalpan de Juarez, Mexico. As a Seat Complete Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, releasing, and integrating all components and assemblies for seat systems.
Job Summary: The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical, mechatronics, or electrical engineering, with at least 2 years of experience in the automotive industry, specifically with complete seat systems and/or components. You will lead and coordinate the development of various components to meet system-level requirements, ensuring excellent engineering deliverables and program timing.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver seat corporate quality R/1000 targets for 1MIS & 3MIS
- Complete engineering deliverables throughout the Global Product Development Process (GPDS) on time with high quality
- Manage Quality, Weight, Cost, and Timing for assigned parts throughout the product lifecycle
- Actively participate in and lead program-related meetings
- Develop and execute Seat system/component level Design Verification Plans (DVP)
- Coordinate effectively with various internal and external stakeholders
- Lead issue resolution to ensure deliverables are met throughout the GPDS milestones
- Integrate seating components into the overall seat system
- Manage product release CAD and BOM structures
- Lead execution of Target Delivery and Target Confirmation for cost, weight, and quality
- Manage tools and processes to track and follow up engineering and program delivery
- Provide on-site support for prototype and pre-production build phases
- Provide on-site support for vehicle launch
- Lead resolution of prototype and final assembly build issues
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 2+ years of experience with complete seat system and/or components in the automotive industry or similar
- High experience or specialist on complex problem-solving and root cause analysis
- Lead, define, and coordinate implementation of Interim and Permanent Containment Actions
- Design and Release engineering and parts verification/validation experience/background
- Experience in full product development cycle, including launch experience in at least one vehicle
- 1+ year of CAD experience
- Knowledge and experience with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and problem-solving tools
- Ability to read and conceptualize 2D and 3D Engineering Drawings
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, including MS Project
- Master's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or a related field preferable
- Green Belt certification
- Strong communication and presentation skills required
- Advanced people skills required
- Project management skills required
